Got an Arduino OOHH YEAHHHHH!!

So yeah, got an Arduino starter kit!

No idea what I'm going to do with it, but most deff. will start with the tutorials provided, then try and figure all sort of stuff out to have a play with!

I think the plan is to create some kind of installation that picks up different frequencies of sound and relays that data with light. I really want to 3D print some form of housing.

Graphics technician and all round cool dude Rich Hurst is nudging me in the direction of Processing programming language...One step at a time I think :)

Digital Technologies showcase at Bournemouth

During the final shows at Bournemouth, I was given the opportunity so show off some of the samples I have created over the past few months that highlight the broad range of processes available to student at AUCB. The small display can be found in the ModelMaking studio.

Also on display is the DIY 3D printer 'RapMan', It has a bunch of 'upgrades' that were both printed on the machine and also laser cut from sheet material. The Machine is humming away throughout the day and offers you the chance to see in innards of a functioning 3D printer!

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the Model Making team for providing the space to highlight the processes used by students within the Workshop!

Paneling tools

Using the plug in Paneling tools for Rhino 4, it is possible to create repeat patterns over solids, surfaces or 2D planes.

There are several pre defined shapes to sample.

Or it is possible to create your own.
